Psychotherapy (Talk therapy): Brooke is trained in offering evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, family-based therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. CEU Presentations/Organizational Development: Brooke is available to provide presentations to mental health or corporate organizations on perfectionism and/or eating disorders. Brooke is an engaging, informative, and dynamic speaker with experience presenting both locally to therapists and dietitians, as well as in Massachusetts for a CEU event at Walden Behavioral Care. Most recently, Brooke was invited to present a seminar on “Therapy Treatment of Eating Disorders” for Brown Medical School/Butler Hospital Psychiatry Residents.
Consultation/Supervision: Brooke offers individual case consultation on an ongoing or short-term basis to clinicians working towards their independent license or those who are independently licensed. Brooke brings to consultation her wealth of experience in hospital-based and clinic settings as well as her expertise in crisis assessment, eating disorders, young adult mental health, chronic illness, and caregiver stress. Brooke has a special interest in working with clinicians who are new to private practice and/or transitioning from hospital-based work into private practice. Consultation can occur in-person or via secure video. $150 (55-60min)
Recovered/Recovering Professionals Supervision Group: This group is open to individuals of all disciplines who treat eating disorders who have their own recovery histories. It will be co-led by Heidi Schauster, RD, author of Nourish, and Brooke Huminski LICSW. Please email Brooke to RSVP: therapy@brookehuminski.com. DBT Skills Group: (2022 Currently Paused) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is an evidenced-based therapy model that helps with managing emotions, improving relationships, coping with stress, and building mindfulness.This group can help you learn practical skills to recover and cope as well as remind you that you’re not alone in the struggle. Co-led by Brooke Huminski, LICSW and Jennifer Kittler, PhD, this 12-session group is currently being offered remotely via an online platform in order to ensure the safety of group participants.
